Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, television personality, philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. After moving from Greece to England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it at the age of 21. Then she became a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform with a critique of current the political landscape. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their views on current events political, culture and politics. Arianna was first noticed when she ran for California's recall election, in the place of Governor Davis. The project she headed was an Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th place on the listing and the following year Guardian named her to the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as head of its media division that also includes other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. She was extremely close to her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother who shaped her. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. In the year she turned sixteen, she left America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. She was a journalist television host, and columnist upon her graduation. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
