Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents relocated her and their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a consummate reader and spent her time studying books since she had no television. In 1983 when she was twelve, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. When she was 15, Ryder landed her first acting job onscreen, playing Lucas. Ryder was bullied at her high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress could help. However, that didn't happen. However, she kept working towards her goals. It was 1988 the year that Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that was her breakthrough. Ryder continued to play successful characters in numerous films. In 1993, he was nominated two times for the Academy Awards.
